All of my tungsten rings are designed as comfort fit rings. Comfort fit bands are rounded on the inside, with the narrowest point at the center of the ring and gradually expanding towards the edges. As a result, comfort fit rings typically fit about 1/4 to 1/2 size larger than traditional bands. Therefore, if you are transitioning from a standard-fit ring or already have your finger measurement, we recommend ordering comfort-fit rings 1/4 to 1/2 size smaller. **What is Tungsten Carbide?**

Tungsten Carbide (chemical formula: WC) is a chemical compound made up of tungsten and carbon atoms. Typically found in the form of cemented carbide—where carbide particles are bonded together with a metal—tungsten carbide has become a popular material for bridal jewelry due to its remarkable hardness and high resistance to scratching. While it is highly impact-resistant, it is important to note that its extreme hardness can occasionally lead to shattering under certain conditions. Tungsten carbide is approximately ten times harder than 18k gold.

The natural color of tungsten carbide is dark grey. When polished, it becomes a lighter grey color. Any tungsten ring that has a color different from its natural shade must undergo a plating process, resulting in colors such as rose gold, gold, blue, or black. We utilize vacuum-ion plating for our jewelry, which is one of the best plating methods available.

Our Tungsten Carbide rings are composed of 84% tungsten and 16% carbon and nickel. We use a superior nickel-binder alloy for our rings instead of pure tungsten or cobalt-binder alloy. Nickel-binder alloys offer several advantages: they are hypoallergenic, chemically inert, and do not oxidize, which means they won't cause rashes or irritate the skin. We avoid using cobalt, as it can react negatively with the wearer's skin, sometimes resulting in a rash. Cobalt interacts with oils in the skin and leads to oxidation that resembles tarnished silver, which cannot be removed through polishing or grinding. In contrast, nickel does not bond with skin oils and, therefore, does not oxidize.
